Weekly Meal Prep for Healthy Eating

If you want to live a happy, disease-free and long life, you should make it a habit of eating healthy. Experts say you are what you eat so if you are eating junk, your body would end up getting sick. So if you want to keep that heart throbbing really good, live a healthy lifestyle and eat only real food.

Here is a video that will teach you a simple way to prepare a healthy and delicious meal. And what’s great is that this meal plan is good for one week. Lousy kitchen skills? No worries because this one-week meal plan is literally very basic.

All you need to do first is gather up the ingredients that you need like the list below:

2 sweet potatoes
1 head of broccoli
½lb green beans
1 bunch asparagus
1 English cucumber
1 head celery
2 red bell peppers
1-quart strawberries
1-pint blueberries
1 whole chicken
vegetable broth


Roasting the Chicken

Prepare the whole chicken meat by putting a little amount of olive oil and add salt and pepper to taste. You can also level up by adding herbs like thyme or rosemary, onions, carrots or celery but if you want it to be very simple and basic, olive oil, salt, and pepper will do. Put it in the oven and roast it at 375 degree Celsius.

Roasting Potatoes

Prepare your sweet potatoes by chopping it into bite size. Add some olive oil, rosemary, salt, and pepper to taste. Spread it on the baking tin with a layered baking sheet. Roast with the chicken for 30 minutes.

Boiling Quinoa

Cook one cup of quinoa in two cups of vegetable stock and bring it to boil on the stove. Once boiling, reduce the heat to minimum and leave it for 15 minutes.  Let it sit for another 5 minutes.

Boiled Eggs

Grab the eggs, 6 pieces will do for a week. Put the eggs in the pan, add plenty of water and put it on the stove. Let it boil for 8-10 minutes. Afterward, drain the hot water. To let them cool faster run them under cold water. Peel the eggs and store in the airtight container to maintain freshness for up to 5 days.

Preparing Vegetables/Fruits

Chop the broccoli and asparagus and trim the green beans. Steam each of the vegetable one at a time. Make sure you have plenty of water at the bottom of the steamer. When the veggies turn bright green this tells you that they are good to go. Let them cool. Store them in an airtight container and put it in the fridge. The veggies are good for salads.

For your snack in between meals, you can chop off red bell peppers, celery and cucumber then store them in a mason jar and chill.

Rinse the strawberries and mixed berries in a colander. Chop, chop, chop and slice, slice, slice! Afterward, mix the strawberries and berries altogether in a salad bowl.
