Part of what it means to be the Dalai Llama is to answer questions from devoted followers and fans. But even the Dalai Lama himself knows a dumb question when he hears it.
While he may be the figure for warmth and compassion for millions around the world, he is not afraid to tell it like it is! The interviewer asks him if he would have the opportunity to say only one thing in his life, what would it be? The response is priceless!
This also reminds us of another life advice the Dalai Lama has given when asked what surprised him about humanity the most, he replied:
“Man. Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived.”
