You’ll see many versions of DIY bracelets and we thought of sharing another clever and simple craft to try at home. It is so easy that you can do this with your younger sister or daughter. This will also be a fun activity for children to do during summer camps, sleepovers or bonding time.
When there’s a fresh new idea, we’re happy to try and share it.
Materials needed for this project:
- A handful of popsicle sticks (Jumbo size)
- Drinking glass
- Decorative papers
- Mod Podge
First, boil the popsicle sticks for about 15 minutes. When soft enough, remove sticks from boiling water. Gently mold popsicle sticks into a curve. To form and hold the curve on the sticks, place them one by one inside a glass. The size of the opening of the glass that you will use will depend on how wide you’d like your bracelets to be. Leave the sticks in the glass for at least 3 hours. When dry remove them from the glass
Now, here’s the fun part, decorate your popsicle bracelets. Cut narrow strips of decorative papers and glue it on your bracelets. Use Mod podge to seal the paper. Let is sit for a couple of hours until Modge podge has set in and voila! Enjoy your new bracelet.
There are different ways to decorate this. You may wrap the bands with printed washi tape or paint them. Let your imagination run wild. The most important thing is, have fun!
