How To Perfect A Homemade Cookie Dough Ice Cream? | The Tastemakers-Dan Churchill

Ice cream can be such a delightful temptation and lavished with sinfully loads of sugar and calories. But who can say no to this luxurious treat? Well, if a commercialized and packed with preservatives ice cream could be so much for you to chill, here is a vegan ice cream delight version that you can make at home to give you the same thrill. The great thing about this video, which is brought to you by the @tastemakers, is that you don’t need to worry about the eggs and it only needs basic kitchen tool such as a food processor. So if you are excited to beat the heat the vegan way, then let’s get started.


This is a three-part procedure and the ingredients that you will need are on the list below.

Cookie base

  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 4 frozen bananas (sliced)
  • 3 Tbsp ABC nut butter (almond, Brazil nut, and cashew butter blend)
  • Tiny pinch of salt

Cookie dough

  • 1 cup almond butter
  • 1 cup coconut oil
  • 1 cup coconut cream
  • 1 cup coconut sugar
  • 1 Tbsp maple syrup (optional)
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 cup coconut flour
  • 1 Tbsp cacao nibs


A. First is making the cookie base.

Start by combining the almond milk, frozen bananas, ABC nut butter and add a pinch of salt into a food processor. Then blend and blitz until the mixture is smooth and creamy. After that transfer to a plastic container and place in the freezer for 30 minutes.

B. Second is make the cookie dough.

Get the mixing bowl and combine the almond butter, coconut oil and then stir in the coconut cream. Add also the coconut sugar, maple syrup, cinnamon and salt and continue to whisk until all the ingredients are mixed all together.

Then using a wooden spoon, fold in the coconut flour and cacao nibs. Transfer the dough to a surface lined with parchment paper or baking paper. Spread out evenly then roll up into a cylindrical form. Roll over the parchment paper/baking paper and the dough. Then grab both ends of the parchment paper/baking paper then twist it. Imagine wrapping a giant candy. Place in the freezer until its firm for 30 minutes up to an hour.

C. The third procedure is the combination of everything.

After waiting for the dough to firm, remove the ice cream and cookie dough from freezer. Gently crumble pieces of cookie dough on top of the ice cream and stir through.
