1. How To Chop Basil Leaves Without Bruising Them

Don’t get insane chopping these delicate herbs. Stack each basil leaf according to size, the largest at the bottom. Roll the leaves like a cigar carefully. Lay the rolled leaves on the chopping board and chop the leaves using a sharp knife.

2. How To Chop Coriander Without Bruising Them

First, lightly shave the coriander leaves diagonally using a sharp knife. Next, roll the chopped leaves altogether and chop them as usual.



3. Ripen A Fruit Quickly

Put a banana in a paper bag together with the fruit you want to ripen. Leave it in a dark area/place. This trick is guaranteed to speed up the ripening of the fruit.



4. How To Peel And Cut Mango

Place the mango on a chopping board and cut lengthwise close to the seed. Repeat on the other side. Cut all the way into the flesh using cross-cut incision and be careful not to cut all the way through the skin. Finally, turn it inside out and carefully cut the square pieces using a sharp knife.


5. Get Rid Of The Burning Sensation Of Chilli On Your Hands

Squeeze or soak your hands in fresh lemon juice to remove the heat.




6. The Right Way To Cook Potatoes

Soak potatoes in cold water then boil instead of adding them while the water is already boiling. This trick will prevent the potatoes from falling apart.



7. How To Peel A Kiwi

Simply cut the fruit in half and scoop out the flesh using a teaspoon.




8. Perfectly Cut A Bell Pepper Without Making A Mess

First, cut the stalk off the top of the bell pepper. Stand the pepper on your cutting board and hold. Start slicing from the top all the way around and discard the seeds as usual. Start cutting the pepper into strips. Flatten the pepper onto the cutting board, skin-side down and slice like usual.


9. Find Out If A Pineapple Is Ripe Enough

Pull the leaf right from the top of the pineapple. If the leaf came out easily, the fruit is already ripe.



10. How To Cook Meat/Fish Cook Faster

Score the meat/fish to allow the heat to penetrate quicker. This tip is also useful when marinating meat/fish as this will allow the flavors to be absorbed by the meat more deeply.

How To Stop Chopped Apples, Potatoes Or Avocadoes From Browning Easily

Simply cover the sliced part of the fruit with water and a squeeze of lemon juice. The acidity will instantly stop the oxidizing which is the main cause of browning.
