Easy Brazilian Truffles (Brigadeiro) In 4 Ways

Brigadeiro… Yummy, if you have a sweet tooth, your life would not be complete if you haven’t tasted a brigadeiro yet. It is more than a soft chocolate sweet ball made with condensed milk, butter, and cocoa powder. It is the most famous candy of Brazil and is always present in every Brazilian birthday party. It can be tricky to get its perfect consistency but it is just easy to make. Try these 4 delish ways.

Preparation is just the same in all four ways, only the ingredients and toppings differ but guaranteed that all are yummy.

Classic Brigadeiro

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
  • ¼ cup cocoa powder
  • Chocolate sprinkles

Instructions:

1. In a pan over a low heat, melt the butter, condensed milk, and cocoa powder, stirring continuously. Wait until you can see the bottom of the pot for 2-3 seconds when dragging a spatula through.
2. Pour onto a greased plate, then chill for an hour.
3. Once ready, shape and roll into balls.
4. Finish by rolling the balls in chocolate sprinkles.
5. Serve!

 

Coconut Brigadeiro

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
  • ½ cup coconut milk
  • Coconut flakes

Instructions:

1. In a pan over a low heat, melt the butter, condensed milk, and coconut milk, stirring continuously. Wait until you can see the bottom of the pot for 2-3 seconds when dragging a spatula through.
2. Pour onto a greased plate, then chill for an hour.
3. Once ready, shape and roll into balls.
4. Finish by rolling the balls in coconut flakes.
5. Serve!

 

Strawberry Brigadeiro

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
  • ¼ cup white chocolate
  • Sprinkles

Instructions:

1. In a pot or pan over medium-high heat, cook strawberries and water until there jam-like consistency.
2. Reduce the heat to low, add butter, condensed milk, and white chocolate, stirring continuously. Wait until you can see the bottom of the pot for 2-3 seconds when dragging a spatula through.
2. Pour onto a greased plate, then chill for an hour.
3. Once ready, shape and roll into balls.
4. Finish by rolling the balls in sprinkles.
5. Serve!

Cookies & Cream Brigadeiro

Ingredients:

  • 10 chocolate cream cookies
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk

Instructions:

1. Separate the cream center from the chocolate cookies, then set aside. Place the chocolate cookies in a zip lock bag then crush and set aside.
2. In a pan over a low heat, melt the butter, condensed milk, and cream centers, stirring continuously. Wait until you can see the bottom of the pot for 2-3 seconds when dragging a spatula through.
2. Pour onto a greased plate, then chill for an hour.
3. Once ready, shape and roll into balls.
4. Finish by rolling the balls in the crushed chocolate cookies.
6. Serve!
