Every once in a while, you wanted to pamper and give yourself a reward because our body gets tired as well, and so is our skin. When weather keeps on changing, a good body scrub is perfect once in a while. Body scrubs are great for exfoliating; removing the dead layer of cells on your skin and nourishing the new skin beneath, leaving your skin soft, smooth, and glowing all over.
Here is one easy chemical-free DIY scrub you can make at home.
- 1/2 cup of soap
- 1/4 cup Almond oil
- 3/4 cup Granulated sugar
- Essential oil (optional)
- Silicone ice cubes tray
1. In a bowl, start with 1/2 cup of soap. Grate soap using a cheese grater to melt easily. The purpose of the soap is to hold the mixture together. On this video, dove bar soap is used but you can use any soap or colored ones for a pop of color.
2. Add 1/4 cup Almond oil to the grated soap. You can also try coconut oil or any oil you prefer. Then, heat up the mixture in the microwave for 20 seconds or until the soap is completely liquefied.
3. Add 3/4 cup sugar. Sugar gently exfoliates the skin and this is what adds texture to the scrub. Also, this is where the part to add a little bit of fragrance with the essential oil of your choice, but this part is optional.
4. Work quickly to pack it into a silicone ice cube tray and freeze it for 10-20 minutes. Voila!
You can put these cute little cubes in a mason jar and store them in your shower. Not only does these looks very cute but it’ll definitely leave your skin smooth and glowing. Perfect as a gift to family and friends.
