Create Your Own Natural Dry Shampoo

Make your own dry shampoo so you’ll never have to buy from the store again! Dry shampoo helps in removing excess oils that keep your hair looking fresh and clean in between hair washings. You’ll be surprised to know how easy and simple it is to make one at home. Above all, it’s cheap, all-natural, and amazingly effective!

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Dry Shampoo For Dark Hair:
    • 2 Tablespoons of Cocoa powder (and/or Cinnamon powder)
    • 2 Tablespoons of Arrowroot Powder/Flour (you can substitute it with non-GMO Cornstarch)
    • Old and Clean Makeup Brush
    • Essential Oils (Optional)

 

  • Dry Shampoo For Light Hair:
    • (OPTIONAL) 1-1.5 Tablespoons of Coconut Powder/ or Ground Oatmeal Powder
    • 2 Tablespoons of Arrowroot Powder/Flour (you can substitute it with non-GMO Cornstarch)
    • Old and Clean Makeup Brush
    • Essential Oils (Optional)

Instructions:

1. Into a bowl, add cocoa/cinnamon powder. For light colored hair, scoop the substitute powder of your choice and add arrowroot powder/cornstarch. Mix until well combined.

2. Next add five drops of essential oils. Pick a scent that goes well with cocoa/cinnamon or coconut.

3. Mix all together and now you are ready to apply the dry shampoo on your hair using a makeup brush.
