250 Pound Giant Red Ball From An Art Installation Rolled Down The Street In Toledo

A giant 250 pound red ball from an art installation broke free and was caught on camera rolling down the city streets of Toledo, Ohio. This incident happened during a bout of bad weather in Toledo. According to news reports, they resolved the issue by containing the ball as it deflated to a much smaller more manageable size.

The giant red ball is part of the Red Ball Project of Kurt Perschke, an award winning artist. Perschke works in sculpture, video, collage and public space. This huge balloon-like ball that serves as a public art project has been known to mysteriously show up all around the world. It has been seen in China, Abu Dhabi, Rochester Minnesota, Marseille, Bordeaux in France, California, Chicago, Sydney, Toronto and is still travelling and poking up in different places to this day. Perschke just recently received a National Award from Americans for the Arts Public Art Network for this work of art.
